Concert for Karen - please read!

This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart, it was started 10 years ago after my Aunt Karen passed away from Leukemia. My Grandmother was looking so much forward to helping raise money for research for this cause and has since past and will not be there. Please, if you are my friend, if you care, if you have ever had a loved one pass or survive, if you are broke, if you have lots of money, the least you could do is repost this. The most you could do is donate to the Leukemia Society. This information has been sent to me from Alan Stout who donates so much time to put the concert together every year. I'll be playing and I hope to see you there!

Hey everybody.. seems to be the season to burn holes in your pocket, eh? anyway, my mom (aka freaky lyn) is opening a store this Saturday called Earth and Wears located on the happening Main Street in Dallas.. (PA.. there really is a Dallas in Pennsylvania for those of you wondering..). Please stop in! There will be lots of local pottery, jewelry, upcycled items, clothing and other crap made by me, and lots of other neat things.. Why do all of the fun craft/art shows/flea markets that are once a month in Philly always happen on the same day? It STINKS!!! I want to go to all of them but right now my loyalty lies with mew gallery and craftadelphia!

first off.. if and i hope at least occasionally everyone with a computer does donate to a particular charity, which one is it and why?

second, thanks to the lovely gals at art star, i received an e-mail from project runway with information about applying for season 6. although i dropped my tv in the closet and have been trying to live a little more off of the grid, i think it would be a great start to not waitressing forever.

i just got back from vermont again, i fall in love with that state every time i go there. the whole trip was really really fun and thanks to all of the friends and strangers who put us up, camping in the rain wouldn't have been as much fun. we have a photo diary to go along with the trip: http://flickr.com/photos/23086242@N06/
in november i'm going to drive across the country with a few friends, visit everyone we know, play shows, find a new place to live. i really want(ed) to try to find a place to sublet for the fall in burlington but if i can't find something within the next few weeks i'll have to stay here and save money.. i'll have a lot of furniture to sell and a room to sublet in november so if anyone is interested, let me know! also if you know of any great spots with built in audiences or even attentive ones please let me know.. i'm looking for shows in the following cities:

This weekend is filled with trunk shows! Friday I'll be selling my goods at Magpie on Main in Carbondale.

on Saturday i'll be playing a show at Crossroads Coffee House in Roxborough..

Sunday i'll be at the Crane building selling my shirts at Art for the Cash Poor.. everything everyone is selling is priced under $199.

here is a shirt i made last week:

i made it in an attempt to reuse scrap fabric from old shirts, i think most people who make their own things should try to do this rather than wasting things, try to make cute things from something you might get rid of.

p.s. i'm sorry that the weird link popped up. i had it linked to my ebay store in my myspace, i don't know if my myspace got hacked, but when i click the link it goes straight to my ebay store, this shirt is not linked anywhere, thanks people who defended me.. but i'm not so worried about it. all of those e-mails this morning though.. wowwwie.. hope you all have a good day

I played at Joe and Matthew's house a few months ago and it was a really fun time. You should definitely come if you are in the Philly area!

Tomorrow I have a show with the Spinning Leaves at Big Jar Books. Definitely come and then go to Open Mic at Lickety Split with Katie B!

I got back from Vermont on Friday. It wasn't a very good test for the winter though.. I think it was about 50 the day we got there. I'm definitely going to move there when I can!

Also, there was an article in the New York Times about Fishtown and Bambi (a boutique that I sell my clothing in) was featured and my name was mentioned!!

I played last week at Banjo Jim's in NYC with Cabinet and the Blue Ribbon Boys with Julia Gottleib..I rented a car from Philly Car Share for the first time and I'm not so sure it was cheaper than it would have been to just rent a car from enterprise or somewhere else.. I was stuck in traffic..I got really lost once I got into the city...I think the Chinatown bus is still going to be my way to go. It just stinks because it doesn't run very late. I started a new job today.. but I'm hoping to start whipping out shirts like there is no tomorrow. For those of you ladies in the Philadelphia area, my clothing is now being sold at:
